hi, i was wondering if you could help me. i came across this blog on the internet when i was searching for a place to ask questions about greyhounds. my husband and i just adopted our first greyhound yesterday, and things are not going as we planned. she's sweet and quiet and plods around the house. but she doesn't exhibit any real affection for us, or interest in playing, or desire for toys/hugs/attention/etc. this is all contrary to everything we've ever read about greys. so i was wondering if maybe they're like this for a few days/weeks after you adopt them? she just seems so depresesed or not interested in us. we can't get her to perk up or get excited about anything and it makes us feel like we're doing something wrong, or maybe she just doesn't "like" us. have you seen this before? any advice would help.
Hi, congrats on your adopting a greyhound. It does take some time for greyhounds personalities to come out. They are use to track life so the change from this to a home does take sometime. They aren't use to toys, stairs, glass doors etc but as they get comfortable with their new home, you will see the change.
